SEO FOR ROOFING CONTRACTORS

SEO for Roofers: Lead Generation You Own Outright

Shared lead sites put your quote alongside four others for the same roof. We work with UK roofing contractors to build search visibility that produces enquiries coming to you alone, from homeowners and property managers who have already read your work before they call.

The Problem With Shared Leads

Why lead platforms rarely work for roofing firms

Most roofing firms buy from shared lead sites at some point. Roofing is high-stakes work, and when your name is sent out alongside five others for the same roof repair, the conversation usually turns to price before it turns to the job.

Our approach for roofing contractors changes what arrives in your inbox.

Enquiries that come to you alone

Homeowners find your business directly through search. You are not one of four quotes on the same job, so the conversation starts with the work rather than the price.

Larger contracts, not just repairs

We target the searches behind full re-roofs and commercial contracts. Minor tile repairs still come in, but they stop being the bulk of what the website produces.

Evidence of what you actually do

A property owner reading about your spray foam removal or flat roofing work sees the detail before they call. That shortens the sales conversation considerably.

An asset you keep

Paid advertising stops the day you stop paying for it. Search visibility built into your own website stays with the business, along with the domain, the content and the code.

This sits within our SEO work for trades businesses, applied to the way roofing customers search.

Client Work

Next Generation Insulation: roofing and insulation search

Next Generation Insulation carries out roofing and insulation work, including remedial jobs on properties with existing spray foam. We rebuilt the website and put a search structure behind it. This is what the first 90 days produced.

The Problem

No footprint in a competitive niche

The business started with almost no visibility in spray foam removal search, a field with established competition. Nothing on the site signalled the technical authority needed to rank for remedial work, which left them unseen by homeowners and commercial property managers alike.

The Approach

Technical rebuild and a silo structure

We ran a full technical overhaul and organised the content into clear silos. That built topical relevance across the building envelope, supported by structured data and a fast front end, so Google could read what the business actually does.

The Outcome

Page one positions within 90 days

Page one positions for terms including loft insulation and spray foam remediation, alongside top three map pack visibility across the local commercial areas we targeted.

How We Work

Building the foundation under your roofing website

Adding keywords to an existing site achieves very little on its own. At Landmark the work runs in three stages, and each one has to hold before the next is worth doing.

01

Speed and mobile performance

Roofing customers search from a driveway or a scaffold, often on a poor signal. We rebuild the front end so pages load quickly on a phone, measured against Google's Core Web Vitals rather than a desktop connection.

02

Pages for the jobs worth winning

Your most profitable work gets its own page. That usually means spray foam removal, EPDM flat roofing and slate work, each written with enough detail to answer what the customer is actually asking.

03

Visibility across the areas you cover

Structured data and consistent business details tell Google where you work. That is what puts a roofing firm into the map pack for the towns it serves, and it is the same groundwork behind our local SEO service.

The Work Worth Targeting

Moving the enquiries towards larger contracts

Emergency patch jobs will always come in, and they have their place. The point of the search strategy is to shift the balance towards contracts with a longer lead time and a better margin. These are the three areas we usually build around.

Remedial work

Spray foam removal and loft insulation upgrades. Property owners research this carefully before they commission anyone, which makes the written detail on the page do real work.

Modern roofing systems

Long-life flat roofs, solar-ready installations and new-build projects. These searches carry clear commercial intent and far less price shopping than a repair query.

Commercial maintenance

Industrial roof coatings and planned maintenance for offices, warehouses and retail units. Facilities managers search differently from homeowners, and the page has to speak to them properly.

The Framework

Four pillars behind a roofing campaign

The framework separates your high-value service categories so search engines can see what the business is authoritative on. It was built to remove the technical faults and slow-loading galleries that quietly cost roofing sites their mobile visibility. When the portfolio pages and local landing pages load properly, the site is there at the moment a property owner needs storm damage dealt with or a roof replaced. The engineering comes out of our Surrey web design studio.

01

Finding the enquiries worth having

We leave the "how to fix a leak" searches alone. They bring readers, not customers. The focus is on people who need an emergency roofer or a full roof replacement now.

Our SEO work is aimed squarely at that intent.

02

Winning your local patch

Roofing is a local trade. We rebuild your Google Business Profile so the firm appears in the map pack when someone nearby searches for a roofer.

Your phone number and address are made consistent everywhere online, which is one of the signals Google uses to judge whether a local business is genuine.

03

Websites built to convert

Plenty of roofing sites look respectable and still fail to produce calls. We build websites mobile-first, for someone standing on a driveway looking up at a damaged roof.

Clear call buttons and a short quote form remove the friction at the point they decide to act.

04

Showing your credentials

Larger contracts go to firms that look legitimate on paper. We mark up your accreditations in code so search engines can read them.

Putting TrustMark or NFRC membership in plain sight does the same job for the customer.

Who Does The Work

Why trust us with your roofing SEO?

Your campaign is run first-hand by our studio co-founders, Alicia McColl and Edoardo Simeoni-McColl. It is not passed to automated tools or to junior staff.

Alicia holds Semrush and SE Ranking certifications, and applies them to the local search terms that matter for your trading area. Edoardo handles the technical architecture, so service pages and heavy case study photographs load quickly over a mobile network.

Local keyword positioning on its own produces rankings. Combined with engineering that holds up on a phone, it produces site surveys and structural work.

AI Search

Being readable to AI assistants, not just Google

A growing number of property owners now put the question to ChatGPT or an AI overview before they open a search results page. These tools cite businesses whose websites state plainly what the work is, where it is carried out and who carries it out.

The same structure that helps Google rank a roofing site helps here: clear service pages, specific answers to real questions, and consistent business details across the web. No method secures a citation, so the work improves the odds rather than buying a place.

Frequently asked questions: SEO for roofers

Why does "spray foam removal" rank faster than general "roofing"?
Because far fewer sites compete properly for it. General roofing terms are contested by every firm in the county, and by directories with years of history behind them. Spray foam removal is a defined problem with a smaller pool of pages answering it well. A page written with real technical detail can rank in weeks rather than months, and the person searching it is much closer to commissioning work.
How does a site rebuild help my Google rankings?
A rebuild changes three things Google reads directly. Loading speed on mobile, which Google measures through Core Web Vitals. Page structure, so each service has a page of its own instead of competing through one page. And structured data, which describes your services and trading area in a format search engines parse. A redesign that only changes the visual styling will not move rankings on its own.
Do I need a separate page for every town I serve?
Only where you have something genuine to put on it. A location page earns its place when it carries real local detail: work completed in that town, reviews from customers there, the services you actually offer locally. The same paragraph with the town name swapped does not create local relevance, and Google is generally able to tell. Map pack visibility in a town where you have no registered address is difficult, though organic visibility for that town is usually still achievable.
Is SEO better than buying leads from directories?
They do different jobs. A directory produces work quickly, from the first month, at a fixed cost per lead that never falls, and the lead is often shared with several other roofers. Search visibility takes months to build, and the enquiries come to you alone. Most roofing firms we work with run both for a period, then reduce the directory spend as the website starts producing its own enquiries.

How To Contact Us

It Starts With a Conversation

Whether you fit flat roofs, take on pitched re-roofs and storm damage repairs, or run a commercial contract team, the first conversation covers three things.

  • What your site and Google Business Profile are costing you in missed roofing enquiries
  • Which roofing jobs you want more of, and across which towns
  • What that costs, as a fixed monthly fee agreed before any work starts

If the website is sound and only the Google Business Profile needs work, we will say so rather than quoting for a rebuild. You keep the findings either way.
